Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need my own paddle? No, you don’t! We provide paddles for all our beginner courses. Just bring yourself and a bottle of water.

What should I wear for pickleball? Wear comfortable gym clothes and court shoes (trainers with good grip). Pickleball involves quick movements, so badminton trainers or indoor tennis trainers are ideal as they give additional ankle support.

I’m not very fit/sporty, can I still join? Absolutely. Pickleball was designed to make it inclusive for everyone. It is played on a smaller court than tennis (badminton size). It is low-impact and perfect for all fitness levels.

I’ve played other racket sports before. Do I need to do the beginners course? If you’ve never played pickleball before then yes you do. While there are similarties to other racket sports, there are some very specific and unique rules, shot techniques and scoring method.

The beginners course is only 2 or 3 weeks so it’s a great grounding in the game that you need to be able to come to our socials plays.

What happens if it rains? Our sessions are indoors in the sports hall, so we play rain or shine!

Can I come alone? Yes! Most of our beginners join as individuals. It’s a very social group, and you’ll be rotating partners constantly, so it’s a great way to meet new people in the area.

What happens after I complete the beginners course?Once you have completed the course you can come to the social play sessions as an improver level player.

Private Pickleball Lessons

We also offer private pickleball lessons for individuals and small groups. These sessions start from £65/hour plus court hire. All equipment will be provided. If you have a group of you it can be a great way to have fun.
