Have you heard about pickleball and wanted to find out more about the sport such as how you play it or what are the rules? We’ve written this guide to pickleball for a UK audience which we hope wets your apetite and encourages you to give it a go and play.
What is pickleball?
Pickleball is a fun sport which is similar to tennis. Each player has a racket and there is a special ball which you have to get over the net. You are allowed one bounce but you can volley the pickleball.
It is played on a court which is the same size as a badminton doubles court. It is america’s fastest growing sport and we hope it also takes off in the UK.
How is pickleball different to tennis?
Even though there are some similarities between pickleball and tennis there are actually some distinct differences. The pickleball court is only one third size of tennis court and the line markings are different.
Tennis rackets are pickleball paddles are very different. Tennis rackets are bigger and made with strings whereas pickleball paddles are lighter, smaller and are completely solid.
